Match Rules

All pegs used in a match will be of a reasonable state to give competitors a reasonable chance to compete fairly using any method the angler chooses i.e all pegs selected will enable fishing with a pole or rod.

Competitors may receive assistance to get to or from their swim for themselves and their tackle.

On all matches on all waters, home or away, you are only allowed to fish halfway across the lake and halfway to each peg either side of you (not the next angler).

All activities and equipment is restricted to your own swim.

In exceptional circumstances (snagged fish etc), the angler may leave their peg to remedy the situation after seeking permission from the neighbouring anglers.

All fish must be landed in their swim, with their own landing net.

On all matches two or more keepnets are required (unless silverfish only match). One for carp, and one for silverfish. Any carp suspected of being over 10lb must be weighed and returned to the water immediately afterwards. Fish are not to be transferred between nets after the final whistle.

Keepnets will be allowed to enter the water at any time after entering your peg, ideally dry. Any fish will count unless otherwise stated, except Pike, Trout or Crustacean's.

Before the match starts, no bait is to be introduced into the water.

One rod in use at any time. This includes using a pole pot to whilst using a rod. Bait can be introduced by hand, catapult, throwing sticks, pole pot attachments etc.

Floating baits, bloodworm & joker are banned.

Hand-lining, is not permitted. Pulla-bungs or similar are allowed.

No additional tackle or bait can be brought to an anglers swim after the starting whistle.

All competitors must stop fishing at the final whistle. If a competitor is playing a fish when the end of the match is called they must declare "fish on"and will be allowed 15 minutes to land the fish. If landed after 15 minutes it is to be returned to the water.

All other Oakhanger Angling Club rules apply, both by-laws and specific water rules.
