VenuesKingsley Pond
Kingsley Pond has 31 swims with a good stock of Roach, Rudd, Bream, Perch, Tench, Crucian Carp, Mirror Carp, Common Carp and the odd Grass Carp. This makes it a premier water for match fishing, pleasure fishing and teaching the younger members (or prospective members) on our open days!.
From Alton come into Kingsley village. You will see the Cricketers Pub on the right, indicate as if to turn into the pub, drive between the chevron sign and the pub, pass the pub car park (10m) and park in allocated bays in front of the grass area. From Bordon, enter Kingsley village, pass the church on the left and indicate left and park in allocated bays. If the parking area is full you may utilise the parking area opposite at the Kingsley Centre, or the pub car park.Mill Lane (Bakers Pond)
Mill Lane is a pleasure pond, with a variety of fish such as: Crucian Carp, Tench, Skimmers, Barbel, Chub, Roach & Perch.
From Bordon along B2004 enter Alton and turn right into Mill Lane. Continue down incline and pass last building on right, Park on right. From Farnham end of town turn into Mill Lane, pass the pond on the left and park after footbridge.
PLEASE NOTE: Members may fish both banks of the Wey (IN DESIGNATED SWIMS ONLY) from the footbridge down stream to the road bridge. Rookery
Rookery is very popular, giving good sport over the whole fishing season. Rookery is mainly a Carp water with specimen's going to 27lb+. There are also Roach, Tench, Skimmers, Bream, Crucian Carp & Pike to be caught at Rookery.
Coming from Alton pass the Foxes Cottages on the left (indicate to turn right at this point), continue for 300m and turn sharp right, pass through the gate. Coming from Kingsley pass a red brick barn on the right (Lode Farm), continue around a right hand bend (indicate to turn left at this point), continue for 100m and turn sharp left, pass through the gate. (For both directions) After closing the gate drive down the track for 100m turn right and park your vehicle in the car park. Cross over footbridge, bottom right corner in car park, turn right and the Rookery entrance gate is 30m along tree line.
N.B. Please be careful when leaving the main entrance as traffic coming from the Kingsley direction cannot see you. Shortheath Pond
A three acre shallow pond on a large common. Shortheath contains Carp, Tench, Pike and Roach. Our members enjoy the social side of night fishing on this pond.
From Kingsley travel approximately 1/2 mile. You will see the Nature Conservation sign for Shortheath Common. Continue for 400m, on your right you will see a house on the bank, take the second turning to the left into Shortheath car park. From Oakhanger the pond is visible on the right and much easier to find, again look for the house on the bank on the left. Please note the car park entrance is deeply rutted (maintained by the council not OAC) and may cause grounding.
Shortheath is a S.S.S.I. and every care must be given to the flora and fauna. Please take extra care with discarded line and litter. Please note that from late April onwards this water has a large population of ADDERS so extra care must be taken.
